The Allotments date back to pre-war era and cover over 10 acres across five different sites; Beacon Street, Cherry Orchard, Christchurch, Netherstowe & The Moggs. We have more than 250 allotment plots, please see our
Location Map for more details.
We are a friendly, caring society with passionate gardeners from all walks of life - new members are always welcome. The society is managed by an elected committee, and each site has its own representatives who work hard to ensure all members can enjoy the allotments.
Whether you want to grow your own vegetables or flowers, allotments can bring you the pleasure of growing your own, being in the fresh air and getting some exercise, along with the reward of being able to develop gardening and other skills. Expect an allotment to be hard work – if you have a half plot you are going to have to spend at least five hours a week there in the growing season to do everything that need to be done, such as weeding, planting, watering, picking and generally keeping on top of things.
Please explore the site, you will find useful tips & tricks in our
Articles section, as well find out what is happening on the allotments in our
News page, see our
Events page for upcoming events as well as appropriate documents such as the Consitution and Allotment Rules.
